As a preventative safety measure, the Snohomish Food Bank has withdrawn all Peanut Butter related products  and will not be accepting any donations containing Peanut Butter products until further notice. The Austin brand of Peanut Butter crackers are very popular and sold locally. Please check you cupboards for crackers and cookies.

1860
Squatter's claim to the site of Snohomish
At the outbreak of the Civil War in 1860 there were rumors of construction of a military road between Fort Steilcoom and Bellingham. Quick to realize the potential of a strategic location, E.C. Ferguson made a squatter's claim to the site of Snohomish where the Pilchuck River joins the Snohomish River.

1868
E.C. Ferguson gets married
In 1868 Ferguson married Lucetia Morgan of Olympia, the daughter of a prominent pioneer. They raised three children: Sylvia, Ivy, and Cecil Emery.
1863
First Postmaster
E.C. Ferguson is appointed the first postmaster in 1863.
